Hello and welcome to the North Texas Gouldian webpage! Feel free to take a look around, I've tried to include some photos of
my birds, as well as provide some pictures and information of where and how I breed them.
About Me:
My name is Courtney Dorsett and I am located in The Colony, TX.(just north of Dallas), where I reside
with my lovely wife, Karen, and our three children, Michael, Connor, and Ellie. I work as a financial analyst for an information
technology services company in the area. My hobbies include computers, mountain biking, and (obviously) finchkeeping. Like
many finch keepers, I have fallen in love with the lady gouldian finch, and they are the focal point in the birdroom.
My goal:
The hobby of breeding finches for me is just that... a hobby. As you will see by my small setup, my goal is not for rows
and rows of cages to maximize breeding results, but rather to create an attractive area where my family and I can sit and
watch these beautiful birds interact with each other. The few birds that I have available for sale each year receive
lots of personal attention and are well taken care of in roomy accomodations. I believe those who have purchased from me can
attest to buying healthy, happy, vibrant birds.
